A Style Guide w/ Alexander | @alexanderpaar

This month, we're getting to know Germany based creative and interior stylist, Alexander, who highlights his inspiring home and great design at @alexanderpaar. Read on for a short interview with Alexander and his style guide from design at The Design Part....

In short, my style would be: simple, minimalist, Scandinavian - with attention to detail and cosiness.

I get my inspiration mainly from traveling and the associated tours through shops, restaurants, bars and hotels. I think that new interior concepts in the restaurant business are very exciting, because here color and textile variations come together. At home, I usually research these hotspots via Instagram and Pinterest.

My favourite room in my home is my bedroom. I really like the simplicity and the calmness of this room. I think it's very important that you choose things consciously and not surround yourself with superfluous things. So I prefer to invest in "investment pieces" like iconic lighting.

My absolute favorite is the "Tulip" dining table with a light marble top by Knoll. The organic design of the table by Eero Saarinen is timelessly elegant and the oval shape makes sure that the table is the best place for communication at parties. All I need here is a suitably large dining room so that the table makes sense.
